Steam Complex on Ledgard Way (LS12) is a purpose-built gay sauna in the Armley area of Leeds. It has steam rooms, dry sauna, private cabins, and cruising areas. The venue runs late-night sessions on Tuesdays (until 10pm) and Thursdays (until midnight), making mid-week the busiest time.
The venue is around 2 miles west of Leeds city centre, accessible by bus or a short drive.
Leeds has a well-established LGBTQ+ scene centred on Lower Briggate and Call Lane. The Freedom Quarter includes bars, clubs, and community spaces. With Steam Complex in Armley and the new Pipeworks in the city centre, visitors can easily combine a sauna trip with a night out.
West Yorkshire has a second venue — Plastic Ivy in Dewsbury — around 10 miles south-west of Leeds.
Leeds station is one of the busiest in northern England, with direct services from London (LNER, ~2h15), Manchester, Sheffield, York, and Newcastle. Steam Complex in Armley is around 10 minutes by car or bus from the city centre — buses run frequently from Leeds Bus Station.
