Nero’s Sauna is a members-only gay sauna on Whitelegge Street in Bury, Greater Manchester, about 1.5 miles north of the town centre in the Woolfold area. Managed by Adult Leisure Group (who also operate Steam Complex in Leeds and Acqua Sauna in Blackpool), the site has operated as a gay sauna since 1998 and reopened under new management on 6 September 2024.

Your First Visit
Nero’s is a members-only venue. Annual membership costs £10 and can be set up on arrival — it takes a couple of minutes. The venue operates a Challenge 25 policy, so bring valid photo ID if you look under 25. Cash and card both accepted.
On entry you’ll get a locker key, towel, and access to all facilities. Unlimited tea and coffee, condoms, lubricant, and same-day pass-outs are all included. If you’re nervous about visiting for the first time, Nero’s staff are experienced with first-time visitors and will walk you through the layout. Nero’s Sauna is on Whitelegge Street, Bury, Greater Manchester, BL8 1SW — in the Woolfold area, about 1.5 miles north of Bury town centre. The venue has a private car park at the rear and free on-street parking on Whitelegge Street.
From the M66 northbound (Manchester, M60, M62), leave at junction 2 and follow the A58 Rochdale Road towards Bury, then turn left onto Tottington Road. Whitelegge Street is on the left. From the M66 southbound (Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall), leave at junction 1 and follow Tottington Road south. For sat-nav, use BL8 1SW. The entrance is discreet — accessed via an alley on Whitelegge Street, with a doorbell to the left.
Bury Interchange (Haymarket Street, BL9 0AY) is about 1.5 miles south, combining a bus station and Metrolink tram stop. The Yellow Line tram runs from Manchester Victoria to Bury Interchange in roughly 29 minutes, every 6 minutes at peak. From the interchange, the 469 bus to Valley View takes about 10 minutes (stop is 170m from the venue), or a taxi takes about 5 minutes.
Not recommended as a walk — 1.5 miles uphill. Take the 469 bus or a taxi.
