Gay saunas in Northern Ireland
Outside Sauna in Belfast is Northern Ireland’s only gay sauna. Jacuzzi, outdoor terrace, and 24-hour weekend sessions in the heart of the city’s Gay Quarter.
Outside Sauna on Donegall Lane (BT1) has a traditional dry sauna, a Turkish-style steam room, and a large jacuzzi that seats up to 16. The venue also has an outdoor terrace and garden, private cabins, a lounge, and a bar. It is the only dedicated gay sauna in Northern Ireland, serving Belfast, Lisburn, Bangor, Derry, Newry, and the wider province.
The venue runs monthly themed events and is known for its continuous 24-hour opening from Friday through to the end of Sunday. Weekday sessions run from midday to midnight.
Outside Sauna opens at midday on Friday and stays open continuously through Saturday and Sunday, closing at the end of Sunday night. Entry is available at any time during the weekend marathon. Saturday night is the busiest session and draws the largest crowd.
Weekday sessions (Monday to Thursday) run from midday to midnight. Monday and Tuesday afternoons are the quietest periods for anyone who prefers a less busy atmosphere. No booking is needed — pay at the door.
Outside Sauna is in Belfast city centre, in the Gay Quarter near the Cathedral Quarter. Belfast Grand Central Station is walkable through Donegall Square. Lanyon Place station is also within walking distance. George Best Belfast City Airport is around ten minutes by road.
From Derry, the train takes just over two hours. The Enterprise cross-border service from Dublin Connolly runs to Grand Central. Stena Line ferries from Cairnryan and Liverpool dock at Victoria Terminal, a short bus or taxi ride from the city centre.
